Post-production (Editing)

I used youtube to learn how to transition videos in Adobe Premiere Pro

Here I used Adobe Premiere Pro to edit my video from colour to black and white to match the black and white colour scheme.  I changed the saturation, along with the intensity, sharpness and vibrance.

Audience Feedback From First Draft

Audience Feedback

I met with three a level students to get feedback on my first draft.
Two are non-media students meaning I can get a perspective of how the music video looks from a non-academic perspective, and the other is an AS media student who is in my target market demographic as he is 17 and black.  I showed them my first draft and then my edit of the ending with names to ask which they preferred.

Feedback/ Comments

Positive:
"I like how the video is all in black and white and that it's about racism that's sometimes white against black, but racism isn't as easy as black and white to solve"

"The video is clearly about racism, the protest highlights that the most"

"I can relate to this music video a lot, it's hard feeling like you're alone with racism so it's nice to see a music video about it, I feel like most songs nowadays are about sex, drugs and making money so it's nice"

"I like that you made yourself cry at the end to show the raw emotion"

"I like the names at the end, that you can read them on the screen in time to the lyrics, and how at the end it shows loads of names quickly one after the other which shows there are so many people who died"

"I prefer the version with the names at the end"

Negative:
"I think there's too much of you in it, it doesn't look as much like a music video if you're lip synching in front of the camera most of the time, I like all the visuals, like the bits at the protest, I wish there was more of that"

"I agree, maybe if there were more people in it, to show people affected by racism"

"I think it's good, but at the start there are footsteps in the song, but no one's walking in the clip we see so maybe if it started off by people marching in a protest? or just people walking"
